Valentines for Veterans & First Responders

February 7, 2019

Members of the Brazos Valley Marine Corps League attended the Valentines for Veterans & First Responders program at Sul Ross Elementary School in Bryan, Texas. This is the 21st year that Sul Ross Elementary School has provided the Valentines for Veterans Program. This year was expanded to include First Responders, which resulted in a good representation from the police and fire departments.
The program started with a procession of the kindergarten class into the auditorium. The kindergarten class was followed by the Bryan High School NROTC Color Guard.
A Sul Ross Elementary School student sang a song with the choral support of the kindergarten class. A Sul Ross Elementary School has kindergarten through Fourth Grade. The upper class provided a hilarious skit.

Valentines were distributed to the veterans and first responders attending the program. So many valentines were created that most remained after the students handed them out to the veteran and first responder attendees. The remaining valentines were given to the American Legion, which will send them to the troops stationed overseas. Shown is one of the valentines received by the BVMCL members attending the program.
