Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que

During our January meeting at Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que were presented a framed Marine Corps flag in appreciation for their terrific support. The flag belonged to to a Texas Marine named George Pauler. Corporal George Joe Pauler was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in the Pacific Theater of Operation during World War II. After his return to the United States, he served for sixteen years as a Deputy Sheriff in Lavaca County, and ten years as a Deputy Sheriff in Wharton.

Also displayed is Teresa Ray presenting Commandant Benny Vallejo with a crocheted American Flag blanket that she made for him.
