Organization for Autism Research 5K

July 25, 2020

The Organization for Autism Research has an annual 5K in Washington, D.C., to help fund its research. Due to the corona virus, they could not hold that event this year. As an alternative, OAR setup a virtual 5K. To support this effort, the Brazos Valley Marine Corps League established Team BVMCL as a participant in the event. Detachment 1391 succeeded in signing up 36 members to Team BVMCL, many of which participated in the scheduled 5K event held at Veterans Park in College Station on July 25, 2020. The rest performed their 5K independently.
Benito Vallejo, Detachment 1391 Commandant, presents to the detachment members attending the 5k event the certificate of appreciation received from the Organization for Autism Research.

Team BVMCL begins the OAR 5K run/walk.
Some members of Team BVMCL ran, some walked. As shown, some of the Team BVMCL members pursued the 5k course as a family unit.
