Wreath Across America Traveling Exhibit

March 4, 2021

Wreaths Across America is touring the United States with a trailer that presents with displays and video presentations the history and mission of the organization. The Marine Corps League was invited to provide representation at their stop at the American Legion Post 159 in Bryan, Texas.

During the event, BVMCL members Al Diaz and Ed Holcomb, both also members of the local American Legion, were asked by the American Legion to be the flag bearers during their Gold Star presentation to the Flores family.

At the right is Ellen Fuller, the local representative of Wreaths Across America and associate member of Detachment 1391. To her right is Benny Vallejo, Commandant of the BVMCL, who is also a member of the American Legion Post 159 Honor Guard.
Al Diaz, holding the Texas Flag, and Ed Holcomb, holding the American Flag, were recruited to participate in the American Legion Gold Star presentation to the Flores family in commemoration of the loss of Helen Flores. In addition to the two flags, the family received a wreath and VA Medallion that was added to her headstone in the Bryan City Cemetery.
